Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
When: Monthly
Venue: Longhirst Village Hall
Cost: Costs vary according to event

Many of our meetings take place in Longhirst Village Hall, in which case a small charge is made which includes refreshments and a contribution towards the hire of the room. External visits and events may attract a charge which will vary accordingly.

Our previous events have included:

  • Food demonstrations and tastings
  • Air Fryers and their many and varied uses
  • Food events with a theme - Mexican Feast, Italian Food, Geordie Night
  • Afternoon Tea
  • Visiting commercial food businesses i.e  Organic Farms, Bakeries, Ice Cream Parlour
  • A Summer Picnic (hosted in a member's garden) where members provide the food and we eat (hopefully) alfresco
  • Food themed presentations by our members
  • We share at least one session a year with the Wine Appreciation (WAG) Group for a shared supper and we join sometimes with the Gardens Group (e.g Harvest Supper) as we have much in common!

Our annual programme is planned together with suggestions from the group, and the organisation is shared with a small group who volunteer to do so.

We welcome new members, and if you wish to join our group or want to know more about us please contact Judith MacMorran by clicking on the email icon at the top of the page.

Christmas Treats at our joint Food Appreciation Group and Social Group's Christmas Coffee Morning at LVH in December.
